Hancock is one of the best known modern jazz composers, creator of Watermelon Man (which has been a reference point throughout his career), Maiden Voyage , Dolphin Dance , right through to the dance grooves of Rockit . Hancock also has the distinction of having made the largest-selling jazz record of all time in Head Hunters .

Very smooth ? my friend ( I'm 54, he's several years older than I am ) has been telling me how brilliant Herbie Hancock music is ????? and now I know why ?

What astounds me to this day was the exactness and sophistication of sounds Herbie created with synthesizers back when all this technology was in its infancy and all the equipment required to pull this off.

In 1973 when this album first hit the airwaves of FM radio.....it blew people's mind......and as a result, a lot of folks became converts of what was then considered jazz-funk.......this particular cut, I used when I had a college radio show as my closing theme.......it just set the right mood......
